Acting on a hot trip, I dashed off to look for a porcelain fungus today. I found the fungus in question but it was a bit past its best and I failed to get a decent shot. However, I saw so many very fine fungi only a few yads from where I'd parked up, that I spent a very happy hour or so trying to get some decent shots. This one was my favourite because the colour of the fungus matched the carpet of beech leaves.
I'm confident that this is a web cap, but there are lots of them and they are very tricky to ID, so the exact species is a bit of a bluff.
