Round the rocks

The challenge for the day was "Round". The water here is certainly wasting no time going round the rocks at the Falls of Feugh in Banchory. A rather tortuous connection I know!

The colour of the leaves as we drove in to Banchory was really spectacular, more than it is in this photograph. What was spectacular here was the torrent of water as it went over the Falls. It was raining yesterday and it looks like there is a lot of water trying to make its way to the sea.

It is the time of year when the salmon should be returning home to spawn, but surely no salmon would be daft enough to try to make it over the Falls when the river is like this. Certainly we saw none today.

After breakfast in Banchory we made a visit to the art gallery in Aberdeen. I find if I don't visit too frequently the art on display has changed quite a bit since the last time I was there. Highlights of the visit today would be a couple of Lauries I had not seen previously and a Vettriano (The Model and the Drifter).

The day concluded with a meal at Borsalino (Italian). It is a while since I last was there. I used to frequent Max's in Westhill quite a lot. It closed a couple of months ago, now we find the former Max's staff in various restaurants around the West of Aberdeen. It is good to see they have found jobs.
