........Captain's choice...........
I finally admitted defeat today............for about 5 weeks I've been nursing a very sore right elbow.........tubi-grip bandage and Ibuprofen and Paracetamol.......but today nothing would shift the pain....so I phoned the doctor and I have an appointment for 8.30 tomorrow morning.
Quiz League again tonight.....against table toppers Coach and Horses...and we lost....2nd game in a row!............slipped from 2nd in the League to 3rd.
But here's the thing....we lost by 5 points, 49-54......at half time for the first time this year we were ahead by 4 points. I wasn't Captain this week....also for the first time this season.....and the Captain on the night...turned down two four point answers in order to play safe and get the second clue.....and one of our team in the individual round offered no answer to a question about a spin off from an ITV soap...which was picked up by the C & H for a bonus point.....now what would you guess in a question about ITV soaps?....that's right ......Coronation Street...so if the Capt had been brave...and we were behind and needed to take a risk......and the team member had guessed we would have had 6 more points....the opposition would have had one less...and we would have won 55-53!!!!!.
Needless to say there were a few recriminations after the match!
