Postcard from Crete 8

Our villa was inland a little from the coast and set on the edge of the village. We overlooked olive groves and small holders who kept sheep, goats, pigs, chickens and had vegetable patches. We watched them come and go each day feeding branches to the goats. Some of them took their sheep out to the olive groves during the day to graze, along a track which ran at the bottom of out terrace.

I could hear them coming along the track as all the sheep had bells on and if I was quick I could leap out to try and get some shots. This is one of the shepherds taking his sheep home in the evening light
