Scone: part 5

Today was the fifth instalment in the afternoon tea tour. You can view the previous instalments here.

Angela came through to Edinburgh this time and we went to No. 11 Brunswick Street. It was an itison deal and we got afternoon tea with sparkling wine for £19 for the two of us - reduced from £52.

Well, I can safely say, that there is no way in this world, that I would pay £52 for that. The service was great and we felt special when we arrived. It certainly looks great doesn't it!?

But that is where the positives end I'm afraid. The scones were tiny, the cakes bland, there was only breakfast tea to drink, and the veggie sandwiches were poor. It's awful when the best parts of an afternoon are the clotted cream and jam that we had to put on everything to make it tasty.

From such a promising start, we were understandably disappointed. It scored 23.5/40 which puts it second bottom in the league. I must remember to create an online league table at some point!

We still had a lovely day chatting and shopping though! The next instalment in the Afternoon Tea Tour is Cup in Glasgow in December.
