Pizza and peas...yummy xx
I do have to admit last night was a very trying night. Eva just wouldn't settle. Mike tried when he went up to bed at 10, she took ages, and was back awake as I was going up around midnight. We both tried winding her for ages, I tried extra milk with her, just plain old cuddles, teething powder, singing to her, talking to her, My Pal Violet... She would be fine whenever she was picked up, but as soon as she was put back into bed, she would cry her eyes out and even had a few paddies! She also keeps pushing herself backwards with her feet in bed, so her head is squashed up against the head of the bed, so she knows I have to keep going to her and moving her back down, the clever little minx. It's amazing how having a baby makes you the most patient person ever. I tell you, before Eva I was not known for my patience, nowadays with her, especially lately, I am very surprised with myself. She eventually went back off about 2am, was awake again at 5 am, then awake again at 8am.
Today's pics shows our shared brekkie, the pizza I made Eva for tea, and her tucking into her pizza and peas. Yummy :-)
One thing she has been doing for the last 2 or 3 days is grinding her new teeth together. And also putting her teeth together in her mouth making the bite sound. She's like, "what's these things in my mouth, Mommy?"
At nap time today, Eva woke after less than an hour, but I just knew she was absolutely shattered. I brought her downstairs, but after 4 big yawns and rubbing her eyes, I thought "you really need some more sleep, sweetheart", so I carried her back upstairs, not expecting her to go back off, but she had another load of milk and snuggles, I put her back into bed, and she had another nearly 2 hours! She has some serious catching up to do.
My Dad came round again this afternoon and we went through his Cezanne assignment while Eva slept. Then as he was leaving, Becky Francis arrived for a catch up.
Eva was all bounces and smiles when she came down from her nap, and so excited when she saw her Daddy arrive home from work. Mike gave her her bath after dinner, and I walked into her bedroom as he was putting her talc on, and she was lying on her changing table clutching the little red bucket from her bath. Cuteness overload.
She had her milk and snuggles with Mommy and was fast asleep in bed by just after 8. Let's see what tonight beholds. She let Mike give her some Calpol before bed earlier, whereas lately she's gone back to not letting us give it to her without forcing it down her, so let's see if maybe that's the key. We shall soon see...... Just hope she's ok xxxx
