Apparently Katie has been telling her friends and teachers at nursery that she's having a fireworks night party tonight. What Katie was having was sparklers in the garden with her grandparents! When I was a child, we had Bonfire Soup as tea every Nov 5th. I decided this year was the year to introduce this tradition to Katie. She was fidgety - excited for the sparklers I think - but eventually ate a huge bowl of it. And has since declared "that soup is delicious". Sparklers in the garden, watching the neighbourhood fireworks, gingerbread men for pudding. All in all, some nice fireworks night traditions passed on to my girl.
