Willunga House

Seeing that it's the second Saturday of the month, we headed off down to Willunga to the regular Farmer's Market. The reason we go o the 2nd Saturday is to catch up with fellow-blipper and friend Antipodia. Antipodia always has a stall in the Artisans' Market. she's a silver-smith of renown, and we love to look at her work.

Willunga is a very old township in South Australia and is only three years younger than the State itself, being first settled in 1839.

This is one of the oldest buildings in the township, Willunga House. You can stay there if you want - it's an up-market B & B these days.

Beautifully restored and appointed, the 1850’s General Store and Post Office is now a South Australian Heritage building, and provides boutique accommodation for couples and small groups including bridal parties.

Just a half an hour south of Adelaide, the historic township of Willunga nestles against a gently sloping range of hills overlooking the world-renown wine district of McLaren Vale. Just a 10 minute drive from some of the most stunning beaches in Australia and minutes from some of the region’s most acclaimed restaurants and wineries.
