Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

09 09 09 -- The Nines Have It!

This is the 9th photo I took today and that's why I choose it. Selecting a photo this evening was difficult -- I had a decent blip of a yellow mini-rose in the back yard; this shot from our visit to the Apple Store; a blip of the crowded 5 o'clock rush hour freeway (which is why we live in the same community where we work); and lots of photos of the TV from President Obama's speech this evening.

We've heard that Las Vegas was packed today for weddings, but it was also last year for 08 08 08 and the year before for 07 07 07 and so on.

We were at the Apple Store for a 1 1/2 hour workshop to learn all the wonders of our new iPhones. It is an amazing technology tool. I know many of my blip friends know much more about it than I do. Mostly it allows me to stay in touch with my online classes. I think of it as a computer in my pocket. Steve Jobs the founder of Apple was in the news this evening. He made a rare public appearance in San Francisco today and spoke about his liver transplant, which happened 5 months ago.

Today I'm still very tired. I guess I am just adjusting to the new semester--teaching 4 writing classes, have had numerous students beg to be "added" to a class. (The bad economy has brought us more students and many classes have been cut because of the lack of funds.) I feel like I've done nothing by email with students for days and days (and I know that is an exaggeration, but gosh I'm tired).

And my wonderful, crazy, one-of-a-kind husband has lost 35 pounds and even though he's only half way to his desired goal, he's looking so good and I am delighted. He's a new Mr. Fun. Actually he's Mr. Fun in a new body!

As the nines are wrapping it up for this day, we'll wish you a great 10th!
Good night from Southern California.
