Reflections On Industry!
We have been really lucky with the weather this week for our holiday on the canals. It's really been quite hot again today. At this time of year the canals aren't too busy so we don't have to queue too long to use the locks.
Chippy's blip today is of us working the lock.
This blip shows a short section of an industrial area we passed through. In some ways it's dissapointing to be away from the countryside, but in other ways it serves as a reminder of why these canals were built in the first place. Not for the amusement of holidaying boatsmen, but to transport salt, coal, flint and pottery around England.
