Moel Fama

Today's the day ............................ to be on top of the world

A beautiful day today - perfect for a walk along a bit of the Offa's Dyke Long Distance Path to the top of Moel Fama.

On the summit, there are the remains of a tower, built in 1810 to celebrate the golden jubilee of George III. It was designed like an Egyptian obelisk with three tiers but was never completed due to lack of funds. It's now just a ruin but it provides a good vantage point to take in the spectacular view.

You have at your feet a 365° panorama taking in Cader Idris and the Snowdon range, the Welsh borderlands, the edge of the Peak District - and behind Will to the north - is the River Mersey and Liverpool with the peaks of the Lake District on the horizon.

Just magic ..............................
