Remember, Remember

Time shall not wither
The plastic poppy shower
As I am again remembered
In this Novembrance hour.

With politician's rant
And drums and guns and medals
And ecclesiastical cant

Remember, remember on this day in November
As for a year I'll be forsaken
I did not really freely give,
The truth is I was taken.
