.......out for a duck........

Woke up this morning feeling crap after another disturbed night.

Got sorted, had some breakfast, got my bag, went outside......to discover a flat tyre!

I have one of these modern cars that doesn't have a spare...just one of those bottles of gunge to reinflate the tyre........but you then can only drive at 50mph.....and you still need to buy a new tyre.....so I phoned work, told them I'd be in late and headed off to the local tyre centre.

The tyre was whipped off....and there was a nail and a screw stuck in it...........where the hell do these things come from?

Fifteen minutes later the tyre was repaired....I was charged the princely sum of £10...and I was off to work.

Have you noticed when your day starts badly.....it throws your entire day out of kilter. It was like wading through treacle all day.

Got home....knowing I had to be back at work for 6.15....showered and a 20 minute nap....and off I went again.

An hour stood outside the venue......meeting and greeting........I eventually escaped at 8.15....and shot up to the Rose for the quiz.

Arch nemesis the Cricket Club tonight....and we needed a win to get back on track after two losses and a draw in the last three weeks..

For the first time in two years the skewed questions went in our favour tonight!

Round 1 Won 6-3
Round 2 Won 4-0
Running total 10-3
Round 3 Won 10 -0
Running total 20-3
Round 4 Lost 2-4
Half time score 22-7

A fag, shandy replenished ( driving) and back for the second half.

Round 5 Lost 4-6
Running total 26-13
Round 6 Lost 7-10
Running total 33-23
Round 7 Won 8-4
Running total 41-27
Last round Lost 1-7
Final score 42-34

Victory! The first half won it for us....although the questions did flip at half time so the opponents had the hard first half and we had the hard second half. They weren't happy!.....and we play them again next week....away....so lets see if we can do the double.
