Elf on a shelf

This is our new elf Aofel.

A fellow mama in the baby group I belong to mentioned the other day about the Elf on the shelf so I looked it up and what a great idea!

So you buy a wee Elf, go online and register him, give him a name and you get a letter from Santa and an adoption certificate. The idea is the wee Elf sits somewhere in the house and watches your children during the day, at night when they're asleep he flies back to the north pole to tell Santa if they've been good or not, if they did something great, if they were helpful etc. Then in the morning the Elf flies back and sits somewhere different and the kids have to find him, they can't touch him though or else he can't fly back to Santa, he sits very still just watching and only moves when no ones around (think of toy story).

There is a book you can buy but it's a little expensive for us right now.

So this is our Elf. When we told Marley about it and showed him the letter Santa sent he got so excited and tonight when Marley started to play up we reminded him of the Elf and he started behaving.

When Marley wasn't watching I moved the Elf to his room when it was time for bed and Marley loved it. I think I'll make this a family tradition for us.
