Autumn In Leechpool Woods, Horsham

Leechpool Wood and Owlbeech Wood are managed as a nature reserve by the local council. It's a very popular place for walkers and for taking your dog. There is a variety of habitats here including the woodland and stream in the picture, some conifer plantations and a newly opened up area of acid heath. It's a good area for wild flowers, especially in the spring and there are many different birds and insects. As it is not far from work, I took advantage of the brighter conditions late this afternoon to go for a quick walk and have a look at the autumn colours before the light failed!
