First day's walk - 18k

This has to be the most barren landscape I've seen. In the background is our destination, Guadalmina, which at 605m is reached via a walk over Tinasoria, 507m. Following a steep ascent of 470m, we descended to the coast after lunch and walked to Piuerto del Carmen where we had a cafe stop before catching the bus back to Arrecife.
In the foreground you can see the type of vineyard that the local farmers have developed after the volcano eruptions.
The vines are grown inside these circular walls where water from condensation collects overnight, providing irrigation for the plants.
