November in Bloom

Around the outside of the buildings at the school where I work we have a variety of different shrubs. The Ceanothus or Californian Lilac still had some flowers on it. This shrub is growing behind a wall and so is fairly well sheltered as apparently they don't like cold drying winds and the evergreen form is less hardy than the deciduous one. The blue flowers and dark green foliage provided a contrast between all the flame colours of autumn.
