Afternoon delight

Thank you so much for all your comments and stars on the recent blips of my week- end with my youngest grandchild. It was such fun and as my daughter lives so far away it was the first time any of the boys had been able to enjoy a sleep over at my house, as they usually are here en famille - so it was all very special.

Today it is back to normal routine and as it was my morning for the art class the dogs and I had a later walk. The temperature was down to at least minus 4 last night and it was bitterly cold in the wind as we walked. However it was dry and sunny, just as I love the winter's days to be. It is quite noticeable now though how much weaker the sun is during the afternoons and the light on the hills takes on a softer and more subtle hue. I rather liked the interesting scatter of clouds in this shot, leading the eye far away to the distant hills. The fencing you can see on the left hand side - especially noticeable if viewed in large - is deer fencing to protect the young mixed forest planted on the moor from the devastation caused to young shoots by deer and, as a side effect, the moor is also rabbit free!
