Showtime

The culmination of a week of work at school, but a lot of hard work from Lisa before that to get it organised, with still more to come!

As always, an absolute delight to see the students perform and to show off the different aspects of our culture. Tonight we had two genuine highland dances, a masquerade dance, a waltz and a bit of Bollywood style dance, in addition to traditional folk dances from the Omsk students.

Despite language barriers, as predicted, the friendships have formed quickly and after the show, the 'after party' for the students and for the adults quickly resulted in much tearfulness (not for the adults - that's for tomorrow!).

Brilliant. Well worth the late nights, early mornings, tears, minor meltdowns and sheer hard work from all concerned. Long may it continue because it is such a valuable project.

Tomorrow the three of us are heading to York with the Omsk contingent and a couple of other staff...could be mayhem as Fisherking is coming along too!!!
