Mary has Died

The Evening News reported that Mary Travers died tonight from cancer, leukemia, in Connecticut. She was 72 years old. In the 60s, Peter, Paul, and Mary became one of the most world famous folk-music groups.

Peter, Paul, and Mary accentuated many years of our young lives with their ballads and protest songs. We grew-up listeneing to their music. We have been quite fortunate to see the trio numerous times in the past 10 years as they have come together for reunion concerts.

My heart breaks for her family, her 2 daughters, her 2 grandkids, and for the 2 who sang their lives with her. Peter and Paul will not make a trio. The 3 of them, Peter, Paul, and Mary, were "1 of a kind."

We'll be listening to their music for days here at the "Fun" house, celebrating her life, their music, and that her voice will not be silenced, even though her life here on earth has ended.
