Model T Ford?

Failed photo-stacking project of a specimen of Vanadinite from Austria, number 63 in my mineral collection. Not sharp enough, lighting not right. Vanadinite is an unusual mineral sometimes found with lead deposits. It is a source of the element Vanadium (V, atomic number 23) which was used in the construction of the chassis of the Model T Ford!

This attempt has not come out well. It was certainly rushed. It has been too dreich a day for open air photography here in Inverurie, with drizzle and poor light. But such a failure spurs me on to find out why it went wrong, and how to do it properly! Project for another wet afternoon. So you MAY see it again — if I can get it right!

I have now re-done this entry, and improved it by taking a crop of the centre, about 1.5cm across, and it now shows the facets of the crystals rather better.
