WhitFUNdays Day 1: Big Jet Plane

Today was for travelling. Like, seriously. Alllll the travelling.

I was up bright and early this morning to finish packing and head to the airport. Dad drove me and Julia, and we left pretty early because we were worried about traffic - only to arrive about an hour before we'd intended to. Luckily, Phoebe had had the same idea so we all ended up getting there at basically the same time.

We flew from Melbourne to Brisbane and then had a long stop at Brisbane Airport, during which time we ate lunch and sang along to the music videos playing at the restaurant we were in. Phoebe received a Louis Tomlinson doll for her birthday from her boyfriend - he has since been dubbed Louis Dollinson - and we had a lot of fun making him dance when a One Direction song came on. Yes, we are all technically adults.

The flight from Brisbane to Proserpine, the closest airport to where we were staying, was nice and short, and we were picked up at the other end by a very talkative guy who gave us a rundown on basically everything we drove past - including fields, mountains, towns and the little flash flood they'd had just before we arrived. When we eventually got to our resort (which is up a mountain. No, literally, it's not just a big hill) we basically collapsed and then hit the pool. It was so nice, even though the weather was awful because of the storm.

We managed to go out for dinner to a very nice Indian restaurant but our long day caught up with us and we were all in bed pretty early. The first day of a holiday is always weird - lots of travel and organising and not much relaxing, but I'm looking forward to the next week!

The view from the plane window. We tried to get one of Louis Dollinson looking out the window but none of them turned out very well! Although I hate flying, I love looking out plane windows - the view is always so pretty!
