Belltower

Among many nice little pieces of architecture in Inverurie, Aberdeenshire, is the neat Belltower of St Mary's Scottish Episcopal Church.

Alas, we make it to 'Worship' there each Sunday by watch, clock or iPhone, for the Bell no longer calls to prayer, these days. Has it broken? Or is it not PC to ring church bells in our tolerant society, lest Sunday sleepers be disturbed…?

I neither know nor mind, for this is not an ancient parish where bells have been rung from time immemorial. The iPhone is good enough for me. It can't play campanology, but has its own little tunes to choose from. As long as I'm not too late for the sermon!
