The Elusive Elusor Macrurus

- or the Mary River Turtle, which lives in a few selected rivers in Queensland, Australia; these two were enjoying the sun on the Obi Obi Creek, near the library in Maleny town.

These turtles are endangered but numbers are recovering. Decades ago they were collected from the river to be sold as 'pets' but are now protected. It's great to see not just one but two of these!
