The Guest Bedroom

Most people would call it the guest bedroom. We refer to that room as the "Queen Room." Not because a queen has ever stayed here, but because we used to have a queen-sized bed in that room. But after 30+ years of sleeping on a waterbed, some time ago the two of us decided it was time for a change. So we moved the queen-sized bed into our master bedroom. Then we purchased a double-sized bed for the corner room, which is another name we use to refer to it.

For both of us it is our favorite bedroom in this house. It is on one upstairs back corner of the house and our master bedroom is on the other upstairs back corner. The queen room is situated so that the beautiful queen palm trees in our neighbor's yard are visual and when the weather permits the windows to be open, a gentle breeze can be heard through the palm fronds.

Tonight our adult son, Shawn, will be spending the night in the corner Queen Room. He arrived back in Southern California from Colorado today. It snowed the night before he left there. The high here today was about 103 degrees. What a contrast in weather this will be for him. It will be good to see him when he gets here. His dad, Mr. Fun, will bring him, and they'll both be here soon.

There are still a number of wildfires burning this evening in Southern California, but thank goodness the one in Norco that I blipped yesterday is out.
