'Queen Anne's Lace on Steroids'

Thus states an American description of the Giant Hogweed. Having been brought in by gardeners in the 19th century as an ornamental plant, it has become a much hated noxious weed, dangerous to humans and beasts (an alternative name is 'Hogsbane' — though I have not heard that it causes hog-warts).

This example, and many others, stares across at us daily (but at a fortunate distance) from the bank of the River Ury, but nicely separated from our garden by the railway and a large field.

To me, the cloud looks like some strange aerial beast about to devour the Hogweed. All power to it!
