For a Sense of Satisfaction

This is where we start the cooking fest for the forthcoming long holiday.

The parsnips in the foreground are destined to be turned in to parsnip balls (which are mashed parsnip surrounded by bread crumbs) which can then be roasted with a joint or poultry.

In the background are leeks, onions, potatoes, garlic and turkey stock and which are destined to be a major brew up of leek soup.

The satisfaction comes from the fact that everything here came from our garden this morning (with the exception of the turkey).

Even more satisfying is that I grew all the vegetable seeds myself over the last two years.

Time to sit back with a glass of something home brewed and await the brick bats for having the temerity to appear to be smug...
