It's Been A Long Day

Goodness me I feel like I've been on the road forever over the past couple of days. It hasn't been nice either driving on the wind and the rain. Mostly motorway driving which is a bit boring but at least you can have a break.

I had a great nights sleep and if it wasn't for my alarm I think I might still be there now. It's the very first time I have ever gone away and stayed somewhere overnight on my own. I quite enjoyed it. If I go away it's usually with friends or to see friends who I've stayed with. I feel quite grown up now.

I was meant to meet up with a friend who I hadn't seen for about 15 years before the funeral today. Then he called me because he had broken down. I ended up picking him up from a garage and took him to the funeral. We got there by the skin of our teeth.

It was a very nice funeral. Some very moving words and songs and some very funny stories being told. It was nice to catch up with people from my past. Some I hadn't seen for about 25 years.

We went to a hotel after for more catch up and food. Boy was I hungry as I missed breakfast. I was late leaving which put the pressure on to get to the other engagement which was nearly 300 miles away.

But I did it albeit I was a little bit late. The meal was lovely and yet another catch up with friends and present exchange.

I have sat on my bum most of the day but couldn't blip that so blipped the steering wheel instead....I've been staring at that for a long while over the past two days.
