Portside fun!

We had a great day!

My father in law works for MAF so because they have an office over in lyttelton, we went over with him today when no one was there and had a bit of lunch and watched the logging trucks, the ships loading the logs and container trucks lifting containers onto trucks. Marley was in heaven, he watched them for the longest time while we sat and had a cup of tea.

When Mar had enough we drove down to the Wharf where there's public access for launching your own boats or kayaks. Just a bit to the left there was a very short path leading to a little area I guess for people to take a dip, it was about the length of a car wide and had lots of tiny stones. Andre and my father in law Richard skimmed some flat stones while the boys threw handfuls in. All of a sudden so super quickly Kanye was getting in the water, he can't swim at all but loves the water. In this area it got deep quick, it didn't slowly get deeper, you could tell by the colour of the water that there was a bit of a drop only a few meters from shore. We all called him back but he kept walking further in, so I quickly unstrapped the front pack as i was carrying Harper, handed him to Andre, flicked my shoes off and got in to get Kanye. He was completely soaked so we got him changed and headed home.

While we were away doing that, 'elves' - my mum and step dad came by and set up a sand pit for the boys for Christmas . It was awesome to come home and let them play in it, they've been in it most of the afternoon. Hopefully they'll still love it in 6 weeks time.

Now we're all pretty tired which is a great thing for them means they'll drop off easily tonight with out too much fuss.
