Tad getting fired actually opened up a chance for me to go to a place I didn't think I'd get to so early in the strip - him questioning his sexuality, which starts next issue. Turning depression into humor (which reflected how much I was NOT digging the Big City at the time) isn't easy, and Tad rarely gets to give Zen as much shit as he gets: but I love this joke for that last line. "Why does this say ZEN?!" Heh. And that Tad has a stack of what must be thousands of people he hates is the kind of thing that makes me chuckle but I doubt anybody every sees. The background is getting clear, though! White space!
