a Boy + Ball + Beach

= FUN

Our last full day in Wellington today, very windy but we hurriedly packed a chilly bin of cheeses, crackers, humus, dip, and fruits and headed to Scorcher Bay hoping it wouldn't be so windy. This beach is sheltered from the gale force nor-westers and we all enjoyed the typical beach picnic.....swimming, French cricket, kite flying, ball games etc, real neat fun.
I took a heap of pictures of the "kiwi beach picnic" but went for this one of a random kiwi boy having some fun with his ball. So typical.

We ended up at the Gasworks....the local at Mirimar for platters of yummies and some beers.

Now home, packing our bags, the kids are sooooo excited about coming back to Timaru with us tomorrow, they have been helping their mum pack their suitcases. I only hope their excitement is still there at 2.15 tomorrow.
