Kellands pond

We had a lovely walk with the dogs around kellands pond it's a beautiful area with wild flowers and water fowl including Black Swans & Crested Grebbs.
I watched a big trout swimming along in these shallows.

The inset is a baby leveret Bella found it luckily she is a well trained shooting dog so only marked where it was.! They are born fully furred and with their eyes open, the mother leaves it in a "form " just an indent or tuft of grass they are very well camouflaged and stay very still so you don't really see them that often. The female visits it's young to feed but that's all and there is only one in the bolt. A bit lonely I feel.

We have now moved on to Fishermens bend for the night, we were meeting up with friends but they can't make it unfortunately.
Meridian are letting a lot of water out of the lakes we drove over the big Benmore dam and it's pouring down the slip way.
