If you can't beat them...

"My First Book of Birds"

Anyone who has known me for more than a few hours will have soon become aware that birds play a big part in my life! Perhaps today I found out why.

De-cluttering seems to be in vogue at the moment (well with some members of my family it is) and today I was going through a box of books, deciding which could go to charity shops, which to recycle and which to keep. The above book turned out, it has to be at least 65 years old perhaps 70 if as I suspect it was bought for Kanyl before I was born.

"Written and pictured by Jeanne Farrar" (now there is an interesting turn of phrase) Designed and printed by Nutt & Stevens Ltd Leicester and published by Brockhampton Book Co Leicester England. It contains little gems such as the description of the Yellow Hammers song on the page I have illustrated.

I remember being told (having them read to me) all my life as far back as my memory goes. Perhaps as I said above, this is where my life-long interest in birds began. Who knows?
