Burning Book.......club cakes

I have definitely filled today! Spinning after school drop off then shopped and made spiced roasted butternut squash soup and pizza for the 5 mums and 4 children who came at 12.30. Half departed for the 2pm swimming class and Helen and I found the forgotten burnt to a crisp naan breads in the still on oven before leaving for Heidi and Katys 2.30pm swimming class.

Straight to pick up India from school, quick snack and homework and off to Lindsay, Hannah and Isaacs for a play and tea. I made the cake for book club at Lindsay's and put it to cook in her oven, she was telling me how her oven at broken down on Christmas Day and it had a new element now. Turns out its a great element and I burnt my cakes!! Epic fail. I cut all the burnt bits off and Linz remarked, how can something that looks so bad taste so good? I will take that as a compliment!

Zoomed back home, cleared up the bomb site kitchen as my sister came round to babysit so I can go to Book Club ( this months book is the universe versus Alex woods, great book) and she is baking a cake to take to work too. Managed to quickly make another Victoria Sponge and am now shooting out the door to Bk club! Thank goodness it's more of a wine club, I'm desperate!!
