Three strikes and you're out!
Despite the builders working across the road telling me that the church is usually open, I've been three times this week and each time the front door has been well and truly padlocked. So, this is the outside of St Laurence's Church in Meriden. Parts of it date back to the Norman Conquest and some of the Norman features can still be seen inside (if you can ever get in that is!). An earlier church was built on this site by the famous Lady Godiva of Coventry who owned the land prior to the Conquest although nothing now remains of that structure.
