Move along. Nothing to see here.
This is the view North from the dunes opposite the shed. Since 'Stargazing live', most people have been expecting fireworks from this direction, but there's been nothing visible to the naked eye. Now, to exacerbate the problem, the weather has closed in too. Aurorawatch hasn't twitched at all, not helped by their magnetometer going screwy, leading me to suspect that Dara and Brian have oversold the prospect. At least I've learn't about the oval distortion of the aurorae and that a CME can have a positive or negative charge, presumably affecting which pole gets to enjoy more of a spectacle. The programme has at least stirred me to get my telescope set up. It's criminal of me to have had left it boxed for nearly three years. Shame on me.
