That there London

BIG day for the Prides. We got up early and caught a train to London with Audrey. First time as a family.

It is something I've always dreaded, wondering how she'd cope with sitting still for two hours on a train (or plane for that matter). And it was pretty much how I'd imagined it. Some good bits, some bloody awful bits. Truth is, Audrey can't sit still and keeping her amused (and not crying) was exhausting. I was glad when it was over.

Booked a lovely hotel and micro-managed it so that we had a huge bathroom that fits a cot. Sleeping in the same room as Audrey is impossible these days (for us and her).

Audrey loved being somewhere else and ran round the hotel room causing havoc.

My stress levels were quite high but managed to de-stress on a walk through East London, over London Bridge and through Borough Market along the river to the Tate. London looked beautiful today. Blue skies and glistening skyscrapers.

Then we met up with our very good friends Stu and Suzy and their children Mylo and Delilah at the Tate. We let the kids run wild in the museum foyer which is massive. We caught up over tea and drinks in the cafe. So lovely as always to see them, we do miss them.

Home to the hotel for room service and wine while we watch TV in bed. Audrey's tucked up next door, we're all absolutely shattered!
