Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

By Carol

Blink, & It's Gone

"Soft" was the feel of sunset today as the ball of fire did a bit of a peek-a-boo with the clouds. We didn't need to wear our sunglasses. We just watched.

The entire show was faintly flirtatious, but also seriously sensual. We never doubted that it was worth the price of admission.

If we listen, really listen, we can hear the collective sigh of the various generations and genders that line the horizon watching with us -- each at his or her own unique location. Then there is a thunderous burst of applause, the pounding approval, as the light vanishes and the curtain is drawn.

What keeps us all, then, from weeping is the knowledge that the light will come again in approximately 13 hours and in 22 or so hours, the next sunset presentation will begin.

The sunset sonata and the sunrise symphony give us the opportunity, the option, to dance.

Today we danced. How about you?

Good night from a dark and quiet
Central Coast of California.
