World Food Day

Today is World Food Day, organised by the United Nations. There's more about it here. In celebration of locally produced food, I thought I'd post this photo of our local boulangerie which, luckily for us, is just around the corner from our house.



Edit: Re-reading this it seems it may appear a little unconcerned about the 1 billion and more undernourished people in the world, but I do believe that as individuals one thing we can do is to eat locally produced food. This is less wasteful of the world's resources and better for the enviroment, and ultimately for those in developing countries which are more affected by climate change, and means we are less responsible for the exploitation of people in developing countries.
