Floating in space?

Back in November I blipped The Big Apple, a sculpture in the library designed as a "den" where small children could sit and look at books. Altopiano reckoned this would be a good idea for adults too!
Well, here it is - the fun den for adults.  This meeting space is built above the entrance to the library. Like the entrance area it is half outside and half inside the glass wall. It is completely open on the inside and as you sit and work there you can hear both the people going in and out and a small waterfall (part of an artwork) on the ground floor of the library and the buzz from the cafe below.
This quiet backdrop of noise provides a very peaceful background and makes it a relaxing place to work.
Anyone can book the room by just putting their name in the diary that hangs outside. It is definitely one of the most popular spaces in the library. At least a couple of business people use it as their "office" when meeting clients, students use it a lot, and some local clubs hold their committee meetings there.  Here you see a group of my library colleagues having a meeting.  It's a fine example of a really successful piece of architectural design.
