Mist Over Pendle
Another wet, dreary day, which again scuppered our plans to go out on the bike.
We decided to have a drive out to a country pub for some lunch and after much deliberation (as there are quite a few nice places near us) settled on the Pendle Inn.
My parents have been here a couple of times and said it was good food, so we thought we would see for ourselves.
The Inn is in a little village called Barley, which is part of The Pendle Witch Trail.
On a day like today, the area looks really desolate; the blip is of Pendle hill and the surrounding countryside, which looks completely different in summer. There's no direct route, it's all little country lanes which made it seem further away than it actually was.
Pendle Inn itself was your typical country pub; olde worlde decor and a blazing log fire. The food was good though the chips were oven chips & not homemade as advertised; we had black pudding & haggis fritters to start, followed by hunters chicken (Mr A) and cheese pie (me). We didn't have room for dessert!
