Loch Droma
It was the Wee Ones Walk at Loch Droma today, so Bud and I left Poppy at home (with a pigs ear and Tom for company. I think she liked the pigs ear best!) whilst we went off for this great walk. The weather was not the best but we are Rufty Tufty Highlanders so we didn't care! Well I did, being a bit old and decrepit, but Bud had a brilliant time. We walked with 6 other brave souls and their cavaliers, kelpies, jack russels, terriers, a papillon, a pyrenean sheepdog and a lovely little 6 month old yorkie/lhasa apso who is in training to become an assistance dog to an autistic child.
We passed this shielling, which Bud inspected with a view to taking it over as a temporary kennel but decided it was too draughty. Shiellings are found in isolated spots all over North Scotland and were used as temporary summer dwellings for shepherds, with their families sometimes.
