The locked gate

The premature end of one of my regular walks.

I knew this day was coming, the gate posts appeared last week but wasn't expecting it to be locked straight away with no notice posted. It's United Utilities land and a concessionary path and they have permission to start work on the dismantling of Hurst Reservoir - delayed from last Spring.

Let's hope they get on with it quickly before the breeding birds start arriving.

The lone Whooper Swan is still on the water - I guess we will soon find out if it can fly now.

I found a new path for my walk.
