Kite surfing at Manly Beach

Today's the day ................... to arrive

We're here! We've made it! After all the researching and planning - and booking - and travelling - today we arrived in New Zealand!!

We flew into Auckland Airport and picked up the car that we will have for the duration of our stay. It took us a while to navigate our way out of the City northwards - a combination of no sleep, gears to shift instead of automatic, a rubbish map and poor instructions - but eventually we found our way to Whangaparaoa.

We're staying overnight in a great little B&B at Manly Beach just to the north. There were quite a few kite surfers making the most of the wind and the waves to swoop and glide about.

This one is for Tim - because I know that's just the sort of thing he would love to be doing here himself ...................
