My first week (s) at nursery....

Again it was me going in to wake Eva at 7.45 this morning to get her ready for nursery, she'd slept through the whole night again. Awww poor baby woke and sat up in her cot looking up at me smiling with one eye only half open because of the conjunctivitis. They soon looked a lot better once they were bathed and she'd had her drops in (putting eye drops in babies eyes is hard!).

Again this morning, she went to Debbie quite happily and barely flinched as I kissed her goodbye and walked away. She's done so well so quickly I think, such a relief as it's horrible leaving her when she's upset.

I fetched her after work at 5.30 and she was sat in a little Bumbo seat right next to Debbie as Debbie was doing some cutting out. Debbie said that's one of the things they're going to work on now, getting Eva to sit by herself, as she always wants to be on Debbie's lap and picked up. She is like that when I fetch her each evening once we're home, but she's fine when she's not at nursery most of the time, so it's all just down to her settling in and feeling secure. She'll get there, and in the meantime, they are being fantastic with her.

Key worker comment: Eva's next steps - settling into nursery

Debbie gave me today's pic of the day, which is 5 photos taken of her first few weeks at nursery that she'd laminated for us as a keepsake. I love the one top right and seeing her on her very first slide bottom right (num nums in mouth and little baby shoes on her feet) and love the fact you can see Iggle Piggle in most of the pics. It's not great quality, but it's lovely none the less.

Eva was a lot better when we got home, as Jake sat and played with her in the lounge and read her Dear Zoo book with her, while I sneaked out to go and do dinner. Chicken stir fry tonight. Eva loved picking up and eating the wiggly noodles.

Mike gave her her bath with regulation Simply Red Cuba album playing, then I went up to give her her milk and put her to bed. She was in bed, fast asleep by 8pm xxxx
