LONE SURVIVOR
I took this picture of the Universal Pictures Billboard.

I’ve always been fascinated by Navy Seals (similar to British SAS)
Those elite powerhouse warriors.
Who never give up. Never give out.
Who believe the real battle is won in the mind.

Lone Survivor’s action takes place near the Afghanistan- Pakistan border, Adapted from Marcus Lutrell’s powerful book about the failed Operation Redwing in 2005. The 4 man Seal team’s target-- - Ahmad Shah, a terrorist with ties to Bin Laden.

The mission gets compromised when three local goat herders stumble upon their hiding place. They’ve lost communication with the base, and must decide what to do with their captives. Because these men will surely reveal their position to the Taliban.

Tough Decisions.
Kill them. Leave them to die. Let them go.
The Seal’s release of the herders probably sealed their fate.

After two hours of fighting, only Marcus Lutrell survived. And he only survived because he was saved by an Afghan shepherd, Gulab. Who took him to his village and protected him from the Taliban. This is the first time Marcus ever considered that there might be good in these Afghanistan mountains.

This isn’t for the squeamish, but a powerful insight into war.

Mark Wahlberg said the making of the movie changed him and he decided he needed to be a better man.
