R.I.P. Darnell
It is with great sadness I have to say goodbye to my little frog Darnell. I found him lifeless in the tank when I got home at lunchtime.
I'm sad, but not too upset as I'd been expecting it over the course of the last week.
The hardest part is knowing whether I did the right thing for him. I only put him back in the tank yesterday. Mr A said at least Darnell was 'home' and with Joy, so I really shouldn't dwell on it.
I guess it's difficult when any animal is sick, but at least with a dog or cat, they can make noise if they are in pain; Darnell couldn't do that. It was also hard find someone who could give any form of advice (thank goodness for Google!).
As a tribute, I've compiled a selection of his 'best' shots.
Top left is his first ever photo when he was a baby
Top centre is after his feeding frenzy; I bought some new fish and he ate the lot! I don't think I've ever seen a bigger belly :-D
Top right was one of his favourite haunts in the old tank; he used to hide in the submarine for ages, then pop his body out the hole in the side.
In the centre left, he's making out with my fire bellied newt, centre left, he is eating his worms.
Lower left was when he got stuck in the bubble tower. He looked so sorry for himself but eventually managed to squeeze himself out of the door (lower right).
Thanks for the memories D!
