Rainy day musings

It's been raining forever. My mind wandered to Venice today, which is also usually wet, and was particularly soggy (both rain and floods) when we were there about ten years ago. My mind then wandered onto the Carnevale, which has always been a great fascination for me. The Carnevale is notionally on my bucket list, although I think I would have preferred to attend in its eighteenth century heyday, where I feel that I would have been embroiled in some dastardly plot.
