"The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion – to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. Today's picture is of my diary, which is rapidly getting filled up now I have started work!! I like this diary with the rainbow effect, it makes it a bit easier to find. Because of the bit of a hard time I have had I have found that my confidence has been quite low, so I have been saying that over the weekend I have been trying to reset my brain back to when I left Alton in terms of work to remember that I can be a good nurse and a good sister. Dawn said commented on yesterday's post on Facebook which helped, talking about "Carol's drawers"!!!! Thank you Dawn if you read this one...

So today's Bible verse is a long one, but is another of my favourites. I have been hearing people talk recently around the theme of this being the year of God's favour. A year for growth, spiritually and growing in numbers. (I mean the church here, not my family!!!)

These verses remind us to reach out to those who are hurting and that God has anointed us to do this. To bring Good News to those who are ready to hear...
