Is this the river?

No!

It's more flooding (see Friday's entry), this time in Cutteslowe Park, just behind our house.

There is a (usually small) stream at the lower (eastern) boundary of the park. It runs by (but just beyond) the line of trees you see in this picture, and flows into the River Cherwell near a bridge that carries the ring road. After much rain, the stream is no longer so small, and has encroached onto the playing fields.

We are happy that our house is built on ground that lies several metres higher than the stream. You can probably see that we are looking down to the water here, and our house is somewhat higher than this vantage point.
